Artist's Comments

Well, it's been snowing here in Upstate New York for the last two days so I suppose this piece is fitting.

When I first saw this stock, I thought it might be perfect for a peaceful transformation. In many of my pieces, the model is reacting just as I think most people would react if they found themselves changing into an animal...surprised, terrified, sad. This piece gave me the opportunity to show a model change as she sleeps...peacefully, without a care.

One of the new things I tried here are whiskers. I received some nice email tutorials from ~bdec and learned quite a bit from looking at how ~NeoZoan does whiskers. In the end, I tried a couple of different things and came up with a techniqe that seems to look pretty good. I may be doing more whiskers in the future.

**Update**

I played around with the whiskers a bit. No big deal but worth an update.

Done using Photoshop 7.0.

Please Full-view...you'll miss detail if you don't!

Hmm, you can try making the whiskers halfway pushing out of the skin, for added effect.

:) Thanks

Great mood here. And once again, I do like the stylization, as it reminds me of my own elves. Especially with the lip this time, it's SO subtle. And the ears here are supernice, too, they really feel natural on her. Excellent work!

Shortening the length.
:iconlessthanhuman:
A good suggestion...I will keep that in mind.

I'm glad you like the overall mood. It's quite peaceful.

You're right, the lip is again very similar to your work...you should give photomanipulation a try.

The ears worked well. It's hard when a good stock photo doesn't have an ear angle that can be manipulated. Luckily, I found some good ears elsewhere.

Thanks for your comments :)

Yes, she's enjoying the transformation! She's so calm about it. Like she knows it's happening and wills it to happen with her mind! Just like Animorphs. Yay! I shall get you a piccy of me being totally amazed and excited about changing into an animal because frankly, I would be totally amazed and excited and overjoyed beyond belief about something like that. I'm a freak for the Animorphs book series so yeah...

Oh I drew myself changing into a cat recently cause I'm reading Animorphs to my fiance. He's enjoying the books immensely. I'm so glad! It's my super favorite series! I used to do morph sequence drawings of random people just cause, so I decided to do that again since I'm becoming obsessed with the books again. Wait! What am I talking to you about that for!? You might be a yeerk!! :paranoid:

Anyway, I like this pic lots cause she's so confident about the change, just like a cat would be. Confident. Calm. Cool. Collected.
