A bit of a setback...

I'm sure some of you are wondering why the lack of updates. Where is the female teenwolf sequence? Where are the next two Beauty as a Beast photos? I usually try to put at least one or two photomanipulation out a month.

Well...a month or so ago, my HP monitor stopped working properly. At first the screen would just randomly go black and would solve the problem by turning the power off then back on again.

About a two weeks ago my temporary "power off then on again" solution stopped working altogether. Naturally, due to the "high quality" (read: poor quality) of many of today's electronics, my monitor only had a one-year warranty which expired 11 months ago. Nevertheless, I expect things like this to work for well over two years so I called Hewlett-Packard several times.

To make a long story short, they will not replace my monitor. What they will do is allow me to purchase a nice refurbished (read: used) monitor from them at a slightly discounted price. I did some checking and I can get the same monitor elsewhere for less. On tope of that, what is to keep this next monitor from doing what the first one did?

Well, I chose to pass on their little "offer". I really don't feel I should spend more money on something I purchased and expected to last.

For the time being, I hooked up an old monitor to my system. It's very dark. Some of you old-timers will remember the first few photomanipulations I posted here...they were very light (to compensate for my dark monitor). Until I can save enough cash for a new monitor, I won't be doing much recreational photomanipulation.

I'm still planning on taking commissions (now more than ever) but I will have to do them using my system at work. I miss being able to photomanipulate from home :(

Anyway, if you were ever planning on buying a print or commissioning a photomanipulation, now would be a really, really good time as I am in need of cash for a new monitor. I don't like to take donations so if you want to contribute money...buy a print or commission me. Get something in return!

Commissions

I am open for commissions. Prices start at $30 and vary depending on the complexity of the photomanipulation. Please note me for details!

it sounds like you are either having a overheating problem or your power relay is dead.If you have a reach/goodwill or any other thrift store about you might find a good replacement there. you might also ,if you have the ability to buy online, check tigerdirect. they have 17'' flat screen monitors for about $40. sorry if ive ive slapped you upside the head with info. ive had a couple of them go out on me before.

HP, Dell, Compaq are all shit. If you're in the market for a new monitor may I recommend you look to Acer who have some great high quality monitors. I'm currently using a 19" Acer lcd that I picked up for AU$180. Definitely worth it's pricetag.

I agree with Cabrio - Acer is a good brand to look up. I wouldn't expect too many things to last all that long these days. :/
